When you have set up the meals for your horses in this section, you will be able to print off feed lists and tables for people who prepare the meals in your stables. You can then tweak the items and quantities in this app and print off new lists, as you monitor your horses' well being.
Before you can use this screen, you will need to have entered the feeds in the 'Feedroom' part of this Feeds section. You will also need to customise the meal names you have and any measures you use in your feed room.
You can then start entering the feeds for each meal for your horse.
You can of course go back and edit or delete each feed item.
IMPORTANT! Some feeds have to be specially prepared or soaked. When composing feed lists for a horse, it is important that any feeds are clearly labelled with preparation instructions outside this application. When entering a feed name in the Feedroom screen, you should also perhaps use explicit names such as "SOAKED Sugar Beet".
TIP: If you are entering Meals for your horses for the first time, make sure you are familiar with the 'Clone' and 'Feed Plan' features as it will save you a lot of time!
If you have several horses on the same feed, you can define a feed plan and allocate it to multiple horses. An example of this could be 'Yearlings', 'Polo Ponies' or 'Broodmares'.
A feed plan comprises all the feed items for each meal.
You add feed items from your feed room to meals in the same way as you do for an individual horse. The feed plan can be printed or downloaded together with a list of horses on that plan within the Feed List/Table option.
When you have set up a feed plan you can allocate it to each horse under the Feeds option on a horse's home screen, You can still also add individual feeds to that horse. An example of when you would do that could be a specific supplement for a horse .
In many cases you will have several horses on the same feed. So that you don't have to enter the same feeds for each horse, you can 'Clone' a meal from a different horse.
If for example you have already selected feeds for breakfast for horse 'A', instead of entering the same feeds for horse 'B' you would:-
Once you have cloned that meal you can tweak any quantities or food items for that particular horse.
